It's hard to believe I was 24 when I had this kid. I was so young. We had barely moved into our first home in Kennewick, Washington. It was so hard having 3 little ones, but I remember getting into the car from the hospital and bringing him home thinking....I don't want to bring you home from the hospital because you're just going to grow up. And they do. And he did. A big 5 year old. First he was off to nursery, then off to Sunbeams and CTR 5, and preschool. I only have 8 more months before he starts kindergarten.
Carter had a pretty fun Birthday. We decided that we weren't going to have a party with friends (ok, I decided that), so we had cupcakes in the park instead. 2 of my friends made a batch of cupcakes and I made 2 batches of cupcakes and we invited all our friends to the park for cupcakes. I regret not taking my camera. There were so many kids running around. We had almost 100 cupcakes...and I came home with about 10. Of course there were kids having seconds and thirds. We asked everyone else to bring sprinkles and the kids all got to decorate their own cupcake. I think we should do that every month. It was so much fun!!Carter also got to open presents about 4 different times. Since we didn't have a party some of his friends brought him presents later. He loved receiving gifts and birthday cards in the mail from family too!!
His favorite part of the his birthday was opening presents. For sure.
Carter's a big 5 year old. Hard to believe, I know.

My birthday happens to be 3 days after Carter's and my visiting teacher was a sub for Carter's class on Sunday and she asked him a few questions and had him answer them. I loved it!! It was a perfect birthday gift! Thanks Crystal. Here's what it says

Oh, Man I can't believe he is that old! It really makes me miss living next to you! We were not neighbors long enough! I remember being so excited when you brought that cute litte guy home! You had it all together with those three kids, I am too scared to think about 3!! I can't believe you were only 24 when you had him! Seems just like yesterday! Happy Birthday to Carter and You!!!

How was the big 30 birthday? I agree with Behka we should see some pictures of the beautiful Jess. Happy birthday to Carter, the cupcake idea is perfect, free food and entertainment done by the park kids ought to be way happy.
