last game, first goal

Carter scored his first goal!!!! Of course I brought the camera to his game...it just didn't have the memory card in it. That was really too bad.
Carter's goal was very exciting. He had quite a few breakaways that never resulted in a goal, but then finally he got away from the "pack" and went one on one with the goalie and kicked it pretty hard right past him.
He has learned so much from his coach this season. The coach has done an excellent job with the kids. Carter is starting to get a little bit competitive and understands when he has to sprint to chase someone down from the other team, and usually he can. When it's his turn to sit out he can't wait to get back in there. This is a complete 180 from last year. I remember a few games (and practices) last year when we said "if you aren't going to play then you can just go sit in the car!" We only said that a few times before we realized that punishing him for not playing wasn't going to make him want to play. That isn't fun. Then we just let him choose, most of the time he chose to sit and watch. Every once in awhile he'd get out there and chase someone from his own team. Fun to remember.

Good for Carter!

We signed Anders up for soccer this Spring, and I'm very interested in seeing how it goes. I kind of expect him to sit on the sidelines as well, but we decided we'll never know unless we actually give him the opportunity, right?

I hate that... it's so hard to know "when" to punish. I am glad that I can learn from you guys on that one though... (sorry haha). Hope you guys are doing well! We miss you.

What a way to end the season! I've done the memory card thing more than once. You'd think I'd learn but I continue to do it.

Wow! That's great Carter. He must be getting so big. I imagine he's going to be the athelete everyone fears.

I showed up to a session once without a memory card. :) There is a genius in all of us.

WAY TO GO CARTER!!! MAY IT BE ONE OF MANY IN YOUR NEXT SEASON.
