sister sass(y), sister boss(y)

These are names that my sister and I use to describe each other...and lately I use them to describe my daughters. They really are endearing names. Ellie has entered into a sassy/bossy stage. She is hilarious. She is super self-centered...in a 3 year old way. This is completely natural, expected and down right funny. I've never had a 3 year old be my youngest child. You could say that she's a little spoiled. Not just by me, but by the whole family. She has us all wrapped around her little finger. I can't resist her, "Pwease?", especially when she purses her lips while she says it and then adds a big grinner after.
She is constantly bossing me around. "Get me a drink, I need a band-aid, not watttter....I WANT milk"!!!! Now when I say "excuse me?" she raises her eyebrows and realizes she better try again because mom's not having any of that.
Just this morning she threw a fit because she couldn't have a brownie for breakfast.
Also this morning, she was sitting on the counter and I was going out of the kitchen and I asked her if she wanted down and she said no. So I left and Hailey got her off the counter...big mistake. She was all upset about it and stomped, really STOMPED, off to my room to throw a little fit. Arms folded across her chest and everything. We just roll our eyes or shake our heads and smile about it. It didn't last long, it never does. Then she's back to her happy, smiley, sweet little self.
She really is so much fun and not always sassy/bossy. We have started to swim together when everyone is at school, after I work out at the Y. Just mom and Ellie time. It's the BEST!! It has been so fun to have this alone time with her. I never had alone time with Court or Carter, and Hailey was still just a baby (almost 2) when Court was born. I totally took that one child thing for granted. I just can't express how much fun this little 3 year old girl is. It makes me want to go wake her up and paint her toe nails. (one of her favorite things) I love this girl.

Every time Sondra is around my Kali, she always says that she reminds her of your Ellie, and after reading this they not only look similar, but it sounds like they act similar. And I am like you, totally enjoying having time alone with just her.

Oh man...Jilly and Ellie would definitly understand each other :) Jill was totally complaining this morning because she wanted a brownie for breakfast, and luckily they were all gone and so I didn't have to say no. then when you say she stomps off...Jill does the same thing, when I tell her no.."she very sassily says.."mooommmm" and then folds her arms and stomps down the hall...and it last like 1 minute and she is back to playing. I love knowing that my 3 yr old isn't the only one getting away with this behavior, but I am with you...how do you not just wanna squeeze and love them, they are do darn cute when they are sassy!

What a cutie!!! We can't wait to see her - oh and the rest of you guys;) Such a trade off to give our kids siblings or have that one on one time with that younger one. Goods to both, but I am so glad you get loads of time with Ellie!

This post makes me long for another baby, but at the same time, just want my Haylie and Connor and no more. Haylie is 3 as well (almost 4) :( and she is past that little stage. Either that or she's got way more attitude. Or both! Connor is just coming into that stage... I'm not sure I can handle it again... I can't decide whether I dislike terrible 2's or 3's more........ HOWEVER, it is HILARIOUS! My kids are going to be naughty forever because I can never control my giggles. Ellie is so dang cute. I wish we lived closer so we could play :)
