Court had his first tackle football game this morning. Jared is helping coach and it's been an interesting journey. Court is catching on and it's fun to see. The first few weeks were brutal and frustrating. Court has come a LONG ways.
Many of his teammates are in their 2 and 3 years of playing. Court is just starting to put his time in. There is a big difference between the 1st year players and the 2nd year players. Most of the 1st years were afraid to hit and be hit. Court was. He's getting the hang of it.
They have a "gold" offense and defense and "green" offense and defense. Court is on both of the green teams. They have a 5th quarter for all the green players to play in, and they play it before the big game starts. Court plays wide receiver on offense. We started out 5th quarter with the ball and we ran it in for a touchdown. Then we stopped the offense, they got nowhere. On our next posession Court ran a reversal and stiff armed a defender and ran 30-40 yards for a touchdown. It was exciting!!!
The big game was exciting. We kicked off and stopped them on offense. We immediately ran for a touchdown. This is pretty much how the whole game went. Court got to play quite a bit in the big game and built some confidence. He jumped on a fumble. He played some offensive line on the very end of the line...not sure what position that is. I'm still learning: ) He played center line backer as well. The whole team played amazing and made amazing plays. I started to feel super bad for the other team. They did end up scoring one touchdown. I think the final score was around 53-6. I stopped counting after we had 41 points.
