There may be a mess when someone has a blue mouth like this and your husband says "Not it."

Quick Mom moment:
My boys don't like to wear pants...Court ESPECIALLY. I pick my battles. However, my friend called this morning and said, "I just dropped your son off at school in shorts and it's 51 degrees." I felt a little bad, but it wasn't my choice. So it was time for Carter to get ready for pre-school and of course he put on shorts, I tried to persuade him to wear pants...I even made him stand outside on the front porch in shorts and a t-shirt for 5 minutes to try to make him see that pants would be a much better choice. I thought he'd come in before the 5 minutes were up. Nope, I was wrong. So then I say, "Carter the thing is that when you wear shorts when it's real cold outside then some people think that Mom isn't taking very good care of you." He still didn't want to change. A few minutes later he said to me, "Mom you are really good at taking care of me." It was funny because he was saying it not to reassure me that I was a good Mom, but because he really didn't want to put pants on. It was funny.

I love it! Herk has been wearing shorts up until TODAY!!! And THAT, my friend, was a battle.
Tell Ellie Leonard likes sandwiches too. :)
I can just hear Carters sweet little voice saying that! Totally cracks me up... I agree on the pick the battles, but gosh dangit when are they just going to figure out mom knows best;)
seriously what's up with boys wanting to wear shorts in the winter! Zac was wearing pants in the summer with long sleeves & now he thinks it's hot outside & he wants to wear shorts! aaahh. I don't give the choice though :) you're a good mom!
choosing battles is no fun because I just want to do it MY way even with my girls only being 13 months they have their independent personalities. Love Ellie's sandwich
I wore shorts all throuh my school years and I am sure that it drove my mom crazy. I'm with you though, choose your battles! It isnt worth fighting over something like that.
I can't believe your friend would call and give you a hard time about that...hehehe!!
I love Ellie's sandwich...I'm glad that my hubby doesn't look at blogs, he would say "Jess does it, why not you?!?!"
Your friend thought shorts in 51 degrees was a problem?
In Idaho we send our kids to school in shorts whenever it gets above freezing. HA!
