Mrs. and the Sisses

Lately I feel like so much of mine and Hailey's interaction has been negative. Mostly me saying "Put your shoes away. Stop leaving your clothes on the floor in the bathroom. Are you watching TV before homework is done?"
So I'm working on being more positive.
My friend, Jennie B., told me about this blog :
http://www.shedoeshair.blogspot.com/. This lady does her daughters hair and then posts how-to's to do it, and has great tips. Super fun. I've been having so much fun doing Hailey's and Ellie's hair. One of the reasons I LOVE it so much is because it's time alone with my girls....POSITIVE time. Finally.
I've been surprised at how well Ellie has sat while I do her hair. She usually pulls it out half way through the day, but at least it is cute for awhile!!
Here's my first attempt....
This is how she wore it for church yesterday...front.
side.
and here's ellie's this morning
Last night while we were watching Extreme Make-over Home Edition (Haze's fav show) Hailey decided she wanted to do my hair....
and here's the finished product....
VERY CREATIVE! It really hurt to take all the ponies out...and I lost more than a few strands of hair.
Today when Hailey got home from school this is what she said
Haze: "Guess what , today I had PE and guess what Ms. Barnum said."
Me: "That she loved your hair?"
Haze: "Yup!!"
Me: "I love your hair too."
Haze: "I love you Mom for doing my hair."
That little remark left a BIG impression on my heart, it made it all worth it!!

Cute fall paper on your blog! I love the cute hairdos! I don't know if Kali's hair is long enough to do anything fun like that but i'll have to check out that blog! You should let your girls do your hair for church next week not just at night when no one will see it!

CUTE... I love it. I need to start doing that sort of thing with my Haylie. I have been feeling for a long time that Connor gets more positive attention than she does. Thanks for the great idea! :)

Looks and sounds like a ton of fun. I am excited to do my girls hair soon but right now I am content with putting a hair band on and walking out the door.

Great job! I love her site as well. It has saved me a ton of Headaches with Madison.... I let her look and she can pick how she wants it done!!! It has made it so much more enjoyable.

well,
I've been doing Abby's hair and it has been fun too! I know what you mean about being positive, I think we tend to get in a rut as mom's! Abby wants to do my makeup all the time - I let her put gloss on my lips that is about it for now!

Looks like overall you had a great time learning a new skill. I miss you ! I still get emails from BP ward and saw that you were having a vinyl party and I wanted to come, but we had enrichment at our ward, and i couldn't miss.
