Today was a busy one. I feel a little bad because Hailey and Court didn't have school today and I spent NO time with my kids.
We dropped Carter off for preschool, went to the YMCA for a workout, dropped the kids to a friend before a 2 hour presidency meeting, picked them back up, got ready for a date with my hot husband, dropped the kids to another friend, picked the kids up 4 hours later, and it was time for them to go to bed.
No mom time. Sad for me, but I think they had a fun day.
So I had to sneak in and take pictures of them sleeping. So peaceful. I had to use the flash and it didn't even phase them.

Well, I didn't have to use a flash with Ellie because her light was on and she was NOT in her bed. Funny girl. Tonight before bed I was reading
Arthurs Chicken Pox to her and in the book Arthur gets chicken pox and the family is planning a trip to the circus, so
DW pretty much makes a
nuissance of herself the whole book and drives Arthur crazy. Arthur gets better before the circus and is able to go, but then
DW ends up with the C. pox and can't go, so Arthur says, "If you're a good little girl and don't scratch, Ill bring you home a balloon." Well, one night Jared was reading this book to Carter and said "If your a good little girl and don't scratch, I'll kick you in the head" just to see if Carter was paying attention. Carter got a kick out of it!! So when I read it the right way tonight, Ellie said "NO, good girl, I kick you in the head!!!"
Jeez, the things they remember. Her and Her babies. She takes them everywhere and leaves them wherever she's been. I'm constantly piling them up in one room or another. Notice the 3 on her floor.

This is typical Carter. He always has animals around him, and he can NEVER find
jammies. He can entertain himself for hours and hours with a few animals. Love the snake on his shoulder, and the little guy in his hand. He has the best imagination. He has the most random comments at the most random times, usually during scripture study, never has a thing to do with what we're reading about. EVERY night he'll get in bed and then come out and we'll tell him to go get back in bed and he'll say "I have to tell you something, I have to tell you something." Again super
RaNdoM comments.

Ah, Court. He has such a
tender heart. I love the way he watches out for Carter and Ellie. I love that he plays school with Hailey and lets her be the (bossy) teacher. He has a new habit: always snapping his fingers, it can be pretty loud, sometimes I wonder if he even realizes he's doing it. He just skips around the house snapping his fingers, he's a happy kid. He is always the first to put
jammies on...sometimes in the middle of the afternoon. Loves
jammies, won't sleep without them.

My sweet, beautiful
Hazelton. She's getting old. It makes me so sad, but I'm enjoying it too. Every once in awhile I'll be running an errand and just take her with me, just the two of us. I love her company. Thinking about her brings a smile to my face. I love to watch her interact with her brothers and sister, always including them. Coming up with fun things to play. She has grown in so many ways since her baptism. She is so sensitive, which most of the time is a gift. She loves friends. In the morning when she has to get up super early and everyone else is still sleeping, she'll sing at the top of your lungs in the shower, usually it aggravates me, but thinking about it just now makes me giggle.

That is such a cute post. It must be late cause a few of the things you said put a little tear in my eye! Isn't it so fun that kids are so unique. It makes you love them soooo much. It's like each brings a different puzzle piece to your heart. Without it it wouldn't be whole but if each were the same then it wouldn't fit at all.
Your kids are such sweethearts. Every day, at some point, I think...MAN....If I could just get a minute to myself!!! But then, when I have a day like this when I don't see them much, my heart is empty and I feel lonely for them. I guess I"m never happy huh? :)
My Haylie ALWAYS sleeps on the floor like Ellie! ALWAYS! Maybe her bed isn't comfortable...? Who knows. She has this kid sized sleeping bag that she insists on sleeping ON (not in) every night.. ugh. At least she's sleeping, right? Your kids are so cute Jess... Yesterday I went to Walla Walla with my mom, AND NO KIDS, and I thought I'd be so excited. It was nice, but the whole time I was there, I thought about Haylie and Connor... habit maybe? They just stick in your brain!!! ;)
I love this post! Wow I bet your kids were super exhausted after all their playing all day long. I love that Carter fell asleep with the new toys that Bryce gave him in his hands! Bryce loved it too. Ellie is so cute in her pic, I love the babies around her. The story of Arthur is a crack up! I'm with Cort on the jammies thing...I ALWAYS wear jammies when I'm at home, they are way more comfy than normal clothes! Jeans at home...no way!
What a neat post. I love the way you describe each of your kids. So different but still so much love for each of them. I can tell what a great mom you are just by reading it. I might have to steal your idea and do it with my own kids sometime. They will love looking back and raeding htis when they get older and it will make them feel so specail and loved- might help them when they go through those teenage years while they are trying to figure out who really loves them.
Thanks for sharing with us each one of your childrens special attributes. What a great post!
