Another Lesson

Ellie has been sick, so no church for her today....except, oops I told the RS Pres I'd send the role and Sunday agenda with Jared and I forgot, then remembered while I was showering during Sunday School. So we hurry and got dressed and run the role and agenda over and decided to stay as long as Ellie would sit on my lap. Guess what the lesson was on. Being an EXAMPLE. All the sudden I don't feel so good about throwing my fit. What did I teach Hailey? Not my best moment. I think I've thrown my last fit (at least in front of the kidders). Darn those RS lessons making me realize my faults, at least I can learn and hopefully be better. No fun, no fun at all. I got to stay for most of the lesson, our teachers are the best!! Always teaching with the spirit. She asked: How through example are we an instrument in the hands of the Lord? I was about to raise my hand and tell about Hailey's experience with Activity Days. She loves activity days. Her Activity Day Leaders are wonderful and a true example to her. Through their callings they have been an instrument in her life. Yesterday was the Stake Activity Day. I dropped Hailey off and she was excited to go and be there with all the girls from the stake. When I came back to pick her up I was a little early all the girls and leaders were in the gym singing Walk Tall Your a Daughter. It was so amazing, beautiful and powerful to hear those 150 girls and leaders sing together. They gave each girl a cd with this song on it. I feel so lucky to have been able to witness such a beautiful thing.
When Hailey and I got in the car she immediately asked me to pop the cd in. I asked her how it was, and she said it was great. I asked her if she was able to feel the spirit and she said yes. I asked her when and she said during the song. This is something we've been praying for, that our children will be able to recognize the spirit and gain a testimony of their own. Our stake Primary Presidency offered this to each of these girls, to be able to grow and feel the spirit.
Like I said, I was about to raise my hand and share this when a sister in our ward raised her hand and said we are instruments through our callings and stewardships, through visiting teaching. It was our Stake Primary President, and I hope she understands just how true what she said is and how grateful I am for her and her counselors for fullfilling their callings.

Thanks for sharing your lessons, one hopes that we can all learn from each other so we don't have to experience everything. I have way too many of these "growing" lessons. Just means God is trying to work in our lives, right?

Jess, it's so fun to hear your testimony through your blog, i think that gramma would be proud...

because gramma worked so hard to teach her children the gospel, and then the kids actually listened and taught us!

I loved, loved, loved your post about your fit...evidence that I am not the only imature adult out there. Good thing we have the gospel to ring us in.

I was wondering why you deleted your post about Breaking Dawn on my blog, I enjoyed your insight. I DID re-read the book last week so check my blog to see what I thought. :-)

Life lessons. They are so hard to learn but so meaningful. It was nice chatting with you at the YMCA. I know as mom's were the example, but I have thrown 'fits' too. I try not to and hope that my children look up to me always. It is so very hard day in and day out sometimes. That is why the spirit is with us to give us strength.
